I am paying for the manifolds i'm tsting - i have enough experience to know that they will outflow stockers . We will have flow data soon so all is well.
Well a blind llama can see that they will outflow stockers. Thats not the question. There are now 2 sets of cast manifolds available. How are people to decide where to drop there $1K? Hmm...I wonder if thats why Mike put his through testing and R&D to produce flow numbers.
Remember i have NO stake in this except i'm using them. I understand the requirement for dyno / flow numbers but i do know many people did not ask for the same numbers from Greg Dupree or Greddy or Z1 manifolds. There IS a difference here. I bet if MS wasn't making manifolds right now this would not be an issue.
People didn't HAVE to ask for flow numbers because these venders were smart enough to provide them in the first place. In fact, it's part of the R&D. Because if the flow sucks and does not improve much over the alternatives, there's no reason to bring the product to market.Now to your Turbo comparison Firstly you cannot "build turbos" you could only build hybrids . I did not see ANYONE asking AMZ, Or Chip Ginn for their turbos compressor maps. No one had proven dyno charts for hybrids. In that same vein WHERE are compressor maps for sport 500 turbos ? Someone has to go first and test parts - Is it so wrong for a vendor asking 5 volunteers to test his product for a VERY nominal sum.
Granted, my choice of product was probably not the best for this comparison. But it seems you pretty much missed the point. But you did notice how MOST people held out from buying until those few with the resources to take a chance produced hard data? I'm not jumping your case for testing them, I'm jumping ixcelr8's for not thinking he needed to test his product. And no it's not wrong for him to ask. Foolish maybe, but not wrong. Where are $600 manifolds from other vendors ? I will test these manifolds and publish flow charts - not because it helps me but simply because a Z enthusiast is trying to improve upon a Z car.
$600? I thought they were going to be more. But how much will it be for the required head modification? Will that make the $600 manifolds $800 manifolds? What if I don't like how they perform and want to get a different manifold? Now my heads are fucked up. He's going out on a limb requiring a hardware modification like that. If he wants to sell his product, he better be able to prove that it will produce. I'm STILL trying to figure out why asking for flow data is such a crazy request to you.
